Hair Transplant Packing List

Reviewed against our editorial standards and medical review policy. Procedures at Clinic Elia are carried out under physician supervision at Acıbadem. General information, not personal medical advice.

A hair transplant trip is short and simple to pack for. This checklist covers what genuinely helps, what you can leave at home, and what to avoid — but always follow the specific instructions your clinic gives you, as those come first.

What to bring

  • A front-opening or zip top for the first days — so nothing is pulled over your head.
  • A neck/travel pillow for sleeping semi-upright and for the flight home.
  • Your passport and travel documents, plus your flight and hotel confirmations.
  • A list of any medication you take, and enough of your regular prescriptions for the trip.
  • Phone charger and a power adapter (Türkiye uses the European two-pin socket).
  • Comfortable, easy shoes and loose, comfortable clothing.
  • A loose sun hat — but only once your clinic confirms it is safe to wear one, and never resting on the grafts.

What you can usually leave at home

  • Shampoo and aftercare products, if your package includes an aftercare kit — check first.
  • Towels and basic toiletries, which your hotel provides.
  • Any medical supplies the clinic tells you they will provide.

What to avoid

  • Tight-collared tops that have to be pulled over your head.
  • Heavy luggage you will need to lift after surgery — pack light, or plan for help.
  • Alcohol around the procedure, and blood-thinning medication or supplements unless your surgeon has confirmed they are fine. If in doubt, ask before you travel.

Your clinic’s instructions always come first. Guidance on medication, alcohol and what to bring is confirmed in your pre-op information — this checklist is a general starting point, not medical advice.
